Twitter is a wonderful resource for HR professionals, but it can also be a challenging environment to navigate. From hashtags, to accounts, to lists, to moments, there are so many different ways to keep up with trending news that it can be difficult to figure out who to follow.
Here are eight accounts that we think all HR leaders should be following to get a well rounded glimpse of what’s happening in the world of human resources.

1. Steve Browne
Known by the HR Twitter world as the king of HR, Steve Browne’s account is one you won’t want to miss. Steve’s engagement in SHRM’s weekly Twitter chat, #NextChat, as well as various other community conversations in unparalleled by most HR leaders.
He also runs a blog, where he discusses everything from talent to HR technology.
2. Meghan M. Biro
If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop for all things talent, look no further than Meghan M. Biro’s Twitter. Forget subscribing to newsletters, Meghan’s endless library of great HR content is the only thing you’ll need to stay up to date.
Her weekly podcast and Twitter chat, #WorkTrends, where you can discuss all things talent, goes down every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PT. Meghan’s impressive following (141k), and her extensive knowledge and insight on the future of work will leave you feeling inspired and educated.
3. Garry Turner
If you’re ever beginning to feel overwhelmed at work, tune in to Garry’s newest Twitter chat, #SelfCareWeekly, where he discusses ways to keep your mind and body healthy while managing an emotionally demanding job. This chat goes down every Tuesday at 7 p.m. GMT, so be sure not to miss the next one!
4. Alison Green (AskAManager)
“Not sure what the hell your manager is thinking, how to ask for a raise, whether you might be in danger of getting fired, or more? Ask away.”
Alison’s Twitter bio alone pretty much told you everything you needed to know. AskAManager covers every topic under the sun for employees. Whether it be workplace wellness, or when it’s appropriate to ask for a raise, you’ll want to follow her so you no longer have to rely on Yahoo answers.
5. Sarah Brennan
If you’re looking for discussions and content geared towards HR technology, this is the account you won’t want to miss. Sarah’s Twitter feed coupled with her blog, HRTechBlog, will give you every important update on HR tech including discussions on design thinking in UI and UX, to AI’s anticipated impact on HR, to HR startups.
“I feel like we talk about AI in HR like we used to talk about social…and before that online. It won’t be about “AI for HR” it will just be “HR Technology” and not having it will be out of practice.”
6. Steve Boese
Not only is Steve the HR Technology Conference co-chair, but he also co-hosts the weekly HR Happy Hour Show and Podcast.
Steve’s interviewees always give great insights into various aspects of the vast HR world and his Twitter feed is a great all encompassing view into HR’s current events and discussions.
7. Joey V. Price
Joey sets himself apart from most HR Twitter accounts by looking at HR issues with an entrepreneurial lens. If you are attending this year’s SHRM conference, be sure to check out Joey’s feed to preview some of the best sessions and speakers.

8. Ben Watts
Finally, on the last stop of your following spree, Ben Watts. Ben provides HR strategy insights as well as discussions on risk and performance in the business world. Hailing all the way from Australia, his content adds some diversity to the otherwise US-focused accounts out there.
Often asking thought-provoking open ended questions, engaging with Ben’s account could be a great start to your Twitter chat experience.
